Lincoln Park's Lakeshore Sport & Fitness could be redeveloped into a new 14-story mixed-use complex. The athletic club is scheduled to present its plan for its property at 1320 W. Fullerton Avenue at an online community meeting later this month, according to an email notice from Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd).
Many details about the plan are murky, but the new building will contain "residential apartments, rooftop amenities, and expanded facilities for Lakeshore Sport & Fitness," according to Hopkins' office.
The meeting notice included a single elevation drawing of the project (which shows an attempt to replicate traditional architecture) but made no mention of the designer. The number of residential units and parking spaces is also unclear at this time.
The proposed development will require a zoning change from M1-2 to B3-3 as part of a Planned Development application. The project will require the blessing of Ald. Hopkins as well as the Plan Commission and full City Council to move forward.
The community presentation for 1320 W. Fullerton Avenue will take place on Tuesday, May 25 at 6:00 p.m. over Zoom. Residents can RSVP using this link.
