A renovation permit has been issued for the conversion of the former Our Lady of Lourdes school building. Planned by Honore Properties, the existing building was put up for sale by the Chicago Archdiocese in 2022 and is located just south of the intersection of N. Ashland Ave and W. Leland Ave.
With Kennedy Mann serving as the architect for the adaptive reuse, the existing 20,000-square-foot building will be renovated into 42 new residential units. While no renderings or plans have been shared, interior demolition has already been ongoing. The development is expected to use the adjacent parking lot for its parking while potential future phases may include new construction on the parking lot.
With the permits issued, general contractor H&S Remodeling Inc can begin the new work on the interior. A timeline for completion is currently unknown.
