The City Council has approved a zoning application for a mixed-use development at 4225 W. Madison. Currently a vacant lot, the project site is located midblock between S. Keeler Ave and S. Kildare Ave.
Planned by John Gardner, who owns Furry Paws Chicago in Fulton Market, he is leading the redevelopment. With BLDG Projects serving as the architect, the ground floor will house the new location of Furry Paws Chicago. The upper floors will have eight two-bedroom residential units. While there will be no ARO units, rents will be set at affordable rates for the community. The site will have four surface parking spaces and four bike parking spaces.
With the zoning application approved, the site will now be rezoned from B3-3 to C2-3. A permit for the new construction has been filed and is awaiting issuance.
