The Chicago City Council has approved a residential development at 2509 S. Green. Located along S. Green St up against the Stevenson Expressway, the project site is a vacant lot in close proximity to the Halsted Orange Line station. Chen’s Brothers of Illinois LLC is the developer behind the proposal.
Designed by Vari Architects, the residential development would take the form of a four-story building reaching 50 feet in height. With a total of 16 apartments, each floor will have four units with an overall mix of 3 one-beds and 13 two-beds.
With City Council approval secured, the site’s existing B2-3 zoning will remain but be revised with a new Type 1 designation. The developer can now move forward with permitting and construction.
