A land sale has been proposed for city-owned land at 2245 W. Monroe to allow for a residential development. Planned by 2245 W Monroe LLC, the vacant site is a midblock parcel between S. Bell Ave and S. Oakley Ave.
Designed by Hanna Architects, the four-story building will stand approximately 63 feet tall clad in brick with inset balconies and punched window openings.
The project will be home to 20 residential units with four of them set aside as affordable. Residents will have access to six car parking spaces located along the alley as well as bike parking.
To allow for the $4.3 million development, the developer is looking to acquire the site from the city for $178,750. The proposed land sale will need approvals from the Committee on Housing and Real Estate as well as the City Council.
