A full building permit has been issued for a mixed-use development at 2234 W. Grand. Planned by Panoptic Group, the project site is a midblock site located between N. Oakley Blvd and N. Leavitt St. Currently occupied by the former Rainbow Art Building, a demolition permit has already been issued to clear the existing industrial structure in preparation for the new development.

Designed by Hanna Architects, the new construction will be a four-story mixed-use building. The project will include retail space on the first floor as well as an enclosed garage with 12 car parking spaces. The upper floors will include 12 residential units that will include front porches facing the street and rear decks facing the alley. A roof deck is also planned for the building.
