Full building permit issued for mixed-use building at 2923 N. Southport

A full building permit has been issued for a mixed-use development at 2923 N. Southport. Situated on a midblock parcel, the project site is near the intersection of N. Southport Ave and W. Oakdale Ave. Planned by Lee McKinney of the McKinney Group, a permit to demolish the existing two-story structure was issued back in January 2023.

Designed by Pavlovcik Architecture Inc, the new construction will be a four-story masonry building. The project will have ground floor commercial space with three residential units above. The structure will have balconies on the front and back elevations as well as a shared rooftop deck. An attached garage at the back of the site will also include a partial roof deck.

With the full building permit issued, McKinney Group, who is also serving as the general contractor, can begin construction and work through completion.
