Lawndale Christian Health Center was recently joined by Mayor Brandon Johnson and other city officials to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Family and Senior Health Center at 3814 W. Ogden Ave. Located in North Lawndale, the facility expands LCHC’s Ogden Medical Corridor and will increase access to health care services for residents of North Lawndale and across Chicago’s West Side.
Designed by Built Form, the approximately $24.5 million, 35,000-square-foot facility includes a family medicine residency clinic, senior health clinic, and optometry clinic. The three clinics include a combined 35 exam rooms, along with lecture and education spaces that will support patient care and medical training.
The new center has the capacity to serve approximately 11,000 patients annually through primary care, senior health and optometry services. The facility is also expected to support more than 100 full-time equivalent positions, further strengthening LCHC’s role as a major health care provider and employer on Chicago’s West Side.
The project received financial support from the city in the form of $11 million in New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) financing through the Chicago Development Fund.
UJAMAA Construction served as the general contractor for the project.
