Mixed-use development planned at 600 S. Homan

A mixed-use development dubbed Homan-Harrison Gateway is being proposed at 600 S. Homan. Located at the southwest corner of S. Homan Ave and W. Harrison St, the project is being developed by IFF in partnership with the Foundation for Homan Square.

Envisioned as an inviting, community-facing gateway building, the project will replace a long-vacant corner parcel with a new construction, building and multiple tenants; locally owned businesses in commercial and office space, and a Financial Empowerment Community Center tailored to the needs and preferences of the local community. 

Designed by Latent Design, the two-story building would have food service and office space on the first floor and office space on the second floor. Activating the streetscape around the building will be a priority in its design to ensure that the building is welcoming to all.

With the project in the works, the developer does not have a firm timeline for construction.
