A full building permit has been issued for a mixed-use development at 4225 W. Madison. Currently a vacant lot, the project site is located midblock between S. Keeler Ave and S. Kildare Ave.
Planned by John Gardner, who owns Furry Paws Chicago in Fulton Market, he is leading the redevelopment. With BLDG Projects serving as the architect, the ground floor will house the new location of Furry Paws Chicago. The upper floors will have eight two-bedroom residential units. While there will be no ARO units, rents will be set at affordable rates for the community. The site will have five surface parking spaces and four bike parking spaces.
A zoning application to rezone the property from B3-3 to C2-3 was approved back in March. With the full building permit issued, general contractor FCCI Inc can begin work on the new building and work through completion.
