A residential development is being proposed at 6929 N. Sheridan in Rogers Park. Planned by Chicago Equity Partners, the project site is located at the southeast corner of intersection of N. Sheridan Rd and W. Morse Ave. The site is currently home to an existing building that was formerly the home of Leona’s Restaurant.

With MC & Associates serving as the architect, the residential development dubbed The Bell at Loyola would stand six stories tall with a total of 81 residential units, including 16 affordable units. The building’s ground floor would be home to the residential lobby, tenant storage, 40 bike parking spaces, and 42 car parking spaces.

With a U-shaped floor plan on the upper floors, the project’s unit mix will include 9 one-beds and 72 two-beds. Each typical residential floor will have 18 units per floor until the top floor where there will be 9 apartments and tenant amenity space including an indoor lounge and a rooftop deck.

To allow for the scope of the development, the team is seeking a zoning change from B3-1 to B2-5. Alderwoman Hadden needs to sign off on the project before it would head to the Committee on Zoning and City Council for final approvals.
