A revised plan for a hotel development is in the works at 150 W. Hubbard. Planned by Michigan developer Porritt Group, the project site is located at the northwest corner of W. Hubbard St and N. La Salle Dr. Currently a surface parking lot, the developer has been looking to develop a hotel on the site since its original scheme was approved back in 2016.

Designed by NORR, the revised scheme would develop a 15-story, 186-foot-tall hotel tower with 297 hotel rooms in addition to a ground floor restaurant space measuring 3,800 square feet. No on-site parking would be included in the building.

As part of the plan, the developer has pivoted from a Hyatt Andaz Hotel to The Cloud One Hotel, which will be tailored more towards business travelers with shorter stays. The average room sizes will be down from 576 square feet to 278 square feet. Amenities will be focused on relaxation and peaceful rest.

To allow for the revised scope of development, the developer will seek to amend the existing Planned Development. An official timeline for the project is currently unclear.
