A zoning application has been filed for a proposed health & workforce development center planned by Chicago-based home health care services firm ASI Health in Humboldt Park. Located at 3446 W. North, the project site is a vacant parcel at the corner of W. North Ave and N. St Louis Ave. ASI Health is in the final stages of buying the land.
Designed by UrbanWorks, the 20,400 square-foot building will stand five stories tall, reaching a height of approximately 58 feet tall. It will include health care services, a training institute and a workforce center. The building would also house ASI Health’s administrative offices, essentially serving as the organization’s new headquarters, as well as a memory care center for patients suffering from diseases like Alzheimer’s.
ASI’s workforce development center would open the door for youth and others with employment barriers to access bilingual and multicultural training for high-demand jobs in health care, tech and the green sectors. The organization also plans to partner with local colleges and Latino-led health care providers on the programs. The facility will enable ASI Health to train about 15,000 home health professionals annually.
To allow for the scope of the $12 million project, the site would need to be rezoned from B3-1 to B3-3. Approvals will be needed from 26th Ward Ald. Jessie Fuentes, the Committee on Zoning, and the City Council.
