The Junction at OC Living completes full lease-up

Habitat, in partnership with Sinai Chicago, has announced the full lease-up of The Junction at OC Living, the second residential phase of the $200 million mixed-use, mixed-income Ogden Commons development located north of W. Ogden Ave, between S. Talman Ave and S. Washtenaw Ave in North Lawndale. Leasing for the project located at 1312 S. Talman began earlier this spring. 

“Reaching full occupancy so quickly at The Junction at OC Living is a powerful validation of our vision for Ogden Commons and reinforces the need for continued investment in mixed-income, mixed-use communities across Chicago’s south and west sides,” said Charlton Hamer, senior vice president of Habitat Affordable Group. “Habitat and its partners look to build on that momentum with Ogden Commons’ third residential phase.”

Designed by SCB, the new four-story building features 75 apartments with 76% of the residences reserved as affordable housing units, including 30 apartments that are designated Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) units. The remaining units will be market rate. The project’s unit mix includes studios, one-beds, two-beds, and three-bedroom apartments.

Residents of The Junction at OC Living have access to a range of amenities, including a resident lounge, fitness center, on-site laundry facilities, management and social services offices, a package and mail room, bike storage and accessory parking. Outdoor features include landscaped green space with lighted walking paths, bike racks and a rubber-surfaced children’s tot lot with play structures.

Habitat is now advancing the third and final residential phase of the development, known as The Parkline at OC Living. The Parkline will feature a mix of townhomes and multi-flat residences with larger floor plans specifically designed to meet the needs of families seeking additional living space within the city.

The Parkline at OC Living was recently awarded funding through the Chicago Department of Housing's 2025 Qualified Allocation Plan and anticipates breaking ground in 2027. McHugh Construction has served as the general contractor for the first two residential phases and will also lead the construction of the final phase.
