The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a Lakefront Protection Ordinance application for a residential development at 6521 S. Blackstone. Located at the corner of S. Blackstone Ave and E. 65th Pl, the development site is currently a vacant parcel. DOM Acquisitions LLC is the developer behind the proposal.

Designed by Hanna Architects, the four-story building will be clad in brick masonry with limestone trim and a prairie stone base around the first-floor facade. Rising 48 feet tall, the building will be entirely residential.

The building’s ground floor will have two two-bedroom units facing E. 65th Pl and 6 interior parking spaces. A further 8 parking spaces will be located on an exterior parking lot at the back of the site that will also provide 14 exterior bike parking spaces. The upper three floors will include another 12 two-bedroom apartments which will include balconies for each unit.

With the Lakefront Protection Ordinance approval from the Chicago Plan Commission, the development can move forward with permitting and construction.
